The "Green Beijing Rock Festival" will be held at the Feng Hua Garden Drive-in Theater in Beijing’s Chaoyang district from August 20 to September 10.
Over the next four weekends, about twenty Chinese rock bands are slated to perform.
Beijing's HIT FM 88.7, China's hippest music radio station is one of the sponsor of the event. Band members and artists will go to the station's studio to chat up DJs about environmental issues and rock music and any connections there between.
Compared with the much more hyped Midi Music Festival and Chaoyang Music Week's ambiguous music ranges, this festival is attaching more importance to the open market and potential of rock music.
Bands invited to perform range from different generations of the Chinese rock phenomenon.
The lead singer of Thin Man, Dai Qin is slated to be the event's Music Executive.
A one day ticket runs 100 yuan. It's 280 yuan for admission to the entire festival.
