Chinese University Students Simulate UN Conference
Updated:2004-12-17 10:38

More than 200 students from 30 famous Chinese universities gathered in Beijing to participate in the 2004 Model United Nations Conference.

The two-day event simulates the UN Commission on Human Rights, with six members in each delegation acting as diplomats of different countries and discussing civil rights, the right to development, and importance of human rights and education.

An official from the organization committee said it aims to provide a platform for Chinese university students to put forward their ideas and learn from each other.

The event was co-sponsored by the China United Nations Association and the China Foreign Affairs University.
